Canon went back to the drawing board with the new Canon PowerShot G5 X Mark II. Looking nothing like its predecessor, this camera shares more features with its sibling the Powershot G7 X Mark III. Sadly it lacks the strobe flash hotshoe from the original G5 X camera, but it is still a great choice for underwater use. The camera features a bright 24-120mm zoom lens, a large 1"-type CMOS sensor with support of RAW image capture at up to 30 fps. It also takes great 4K UHD video or un-cropped 1080 video at up to 120p.
This housing is designed to use the full capabilities of the camera up to depths of 200 feet (60 meters). A perfectly clear back provides a view of the camera and o-ring seal. The back is removable, not hinged, for extra durability and easier camera access. It attaches quickly and easily with two heavy duty stainless steel locking latches. All important camera controls are accessed via fully serviceable controls with premium soft touch control knobs. Ikelite housings are manufactured in the USA and come with an unparalleled access to support, photo advice, and service.
Our ABS-PC blend housing provides strength and corrosion free performance year with minimal maintenance. The specially formulated color deflects the sun to keep your camera running cooler, longer. Compared to black or clear housings, the light color provides superior contrast for enhanced view of the camera, LCD screen, and o-ring seal.
Ikelite products are designed, built and tested in the USA. We use locally sourced, top-grade materials. Our housings are built by hand and individually tested for fit, function and waterproof integrity. We back our products with over 50 years of experience and service within the dive industry.
Drop-in camera loading makes this housing a breeze to set up and shoot. Good ergonomics are critical when you need to concentrate on composition, focus, and proper exposure. A large, curved control lever puts the shutter control right where you need it. The shutter lever can be extended using the optional Trigger Extension # 4077.93 for perfect spacing when using a right-hand handle.
The rotating controls are all operated intuitively via premium soft-touch knobs. Stainless steel, direct-drive rotating controls are virtually fail-safe and user serviceable and adjustable in a pinch.
All rear camera buttons are accessible by smooth action, hard anodized aluminum push buttons for reliable performance and easy maintenance. These controls are clearly labeled by laser engraving on the back of the housing that never fades or falls off.
The camera's large LCD screen can be seen clearly through the back of the housing.
Flash
Due to the position of the camera's flash in relation to its lens, the built-in flash is not suitable to illuminate photos under water. For the best color and clarity, we recommend adding a filter, strobe, or constant-on light.
Two ports are provided for the connection of up to two Ikelite-, SEA&SEA-, or Olympus-type fiber optic cords. Any Ikelite DS strobe may be connected using the Fiber Optic Converter # 4401.3 and Fiber Optic Cord # 4501. The AF35 strobe is not compatible with this housing.
Tray with Handle(s)
The optional Action Tray II with Left Hand Quick Release Handle # 2605.04 and Action Tray II Extension with Right Handle # 2605.05 provide a balanced grip and are the perfect platform for adding lighting accessories.
The Action Tray mounts to the bottom of the housing with two 1/4-20 threaded screws for secure and rotation-free use. Our uniquely curved grips are rubberized for a comfortable grip and provide a quick release mechanism for adding and removing light arms.
Zoom, super macro, and semi-wide angle
The standard 3.9" diameter optical glass port accommodates the camera's full 24-120mm zoom range underwater.
Add the press-fit Macro Adapter # 9306.82 with any 67mm threaded macro wet lens for incredibly super macro photography. Compatible wet lenses include but are not limited to the INON UCL-165, Subsee Magnifier, Saga close up lenses, Nauticam CMC-1, and others.
Read more: Super Macro Underwater Photography Techniques
The optional WD-4 Wide Angle Dome # 6430.4 provides a wider angle of view underwater without the edge distortion, vignetting, or weight typically associated with an external wide angle wet lens. The WD-4 is a 0.75x magnification factor and simply slides on and off of the housing's lens port.
Read more: When to Use a Wide Angle Dome WD-3 or WD-4
3.9" diameter color filters press directly onto the front of the standard lens port. We offer color filters for Tropical Blue Water # 6441.46, Green Water # 6441.86, and a Yellow Barrier Filter # 6441.16 for fluorescence photography.
Optional 6" dry dome
The DC3 6" Dome Port # 6403 offers the best of everything: wide angle, macro, and over-under all on one dive. This special dome port replaces the housing's standard port and provides sharp 24mm wide angle and is perfect for split shots (half-in, half-out of the water). Approximately 3/4 of the camera's zoom range is usable behind the dome and macro images can be captured with the dome installed.
We recommend adding the Anti-Reflection Set of Foam # 6407 to reduce reflections when using the DC3 Dome Port.
Sealing and Vacuum Testing
There is no greater assurance than being able to see your camera and o-ring seal through the back of the housing. Our signature open-groove design suspends the rear o-ring in a natural position that is easier to maintain and more reliable than forcing the o-ring into a channel. Once the housing is closed you can see the o-ring form a solid, waterproof seal.
A spare 1/2-20 threaded accessory port is provided on the side of the housing for easily installation of the optional Vacuum Kit # 47012. A hand pump with gauge allows you to draw a vacuum on the housing to simulate water pressure and check for leaks prior to entering the water.
Every unit is water pressure tested to 200 feet (60m) before it leaves our facility in Indianapolis.
Compatibility
This housing is only compatible with the Canon PowerShot G5 X Mark II camera as shipped by the manufacturer. Other Canon cameras, including other G5 X and G7 X models, are not usable in this housing due to differences in control placement.

Overview
Nikon Z50 Mirrorless Cameras
The little brother to Nikon's Z6 and Z7 full frame mirrorless cameras, the Z50 features a 20.9 megapixel APS-C (DX-format) sensor. It records UHD 4K/30p video using the full width of its sensor. A bright 2.36M-dot OLED viewfinder provides a good view for both composition and image review.
The camera body weighs in at just under 1 pound (450 g) and accepts both newer Z-mount lenses and F-mount lenses using the FTZ adapter. The camera's CIPA battery life is 320 shots using the rear LCD or 280 shots using the electronic viewfinder (EVF).
Lens Ports
This housing features our robust Dry Lock (DL) port system. "Dry Lock" refers to the placement of the o-ring on the outside of the port mount. This improves visibility and reduces the chances of water dropping onto your precious camera sensor. DL ports are the lightest on the market, yet robust and capable of standing up to rough surf. Attachment is quick and secure. A system of extensions can accommodate a huge variety of lenses with ease.
Most popular zoom lenses and select lens focus rings can be engaged using simple gearing that puts adjustment right at your fingertips. A large, soft-touch knob on the side of the housing makes fine tuned adjustments a breeze. Zoom and focus gears differ depending on which lens you are using. Zoom gears sold separately.
Confidence
The unique rear seal design prevents accidental twisting or stretching of the o-ring for simple and confident assembly. We have eliminated the need for an o-ring groove or channel which can trap sand, dirt, or debris. Three double-passivated stainless steel locking lid snaps are simple to use and virtually unbreakable. The clear back allows you to see the o-ring form a solid, watertight seal as it closes.
Vacuum Testing
A vacuum valve is installed standard on the side of the housing. The vacuum valve is designed to be low profile to avoid interference with controls. The optional Vacuum Pump with Gauge # 47011 allows you to draw a vacuum on the housing to check for leaks prior to entering the water.
Drawing a vacuum on the system also provides extra security at the surface of the water, especially important when using the housing in rough surf.
M16 Accessory Port
The spare M16 threaded accessory port provides an attachment point for third party accessories including HDMI bulkheads.
TTL Exposure
This housings supports your choice of shooting with manual strobe exposure or adding a TTL converter depending on your application. The flash bulkhead is located on the top of the case to alleviate strain on the sync cord.
You can enjoy the fastest and most accurate TTL exposure on the market by adding the DL1 DS Link TTL Converter # 46056 and a compatible Ikelite DS strobe. The DL1 supports rear curtain synchronization and exposure compensation can be added or subtracted in the camera.
Reliable locking connectors between the hotshoe and bulkhead make it easy to install the TTL hotshoe or carry back up parts when traveling to remote locations.
Built-in Flash
The camera's built-in flash may be used to trigger external fiber optic strobes. Two fiber optic ports are provided on the top of the housing for attachment of compatible fiber optic cords (see compatibility information below). The built-in flash is not usable for lighting a subject underwater.
Ergonomics
Good ergonomics are critical when you need to concentrate on composition, focus, and proper exposure. Large, curved control levers put the most important controls right where you need them: shutter and autofocus (via the AE-L/AF-L button). This combination allows you to shoot with or without back button focus, an advanced technique that is useful for tack sharp focus of super macro and fast moving subjects. Each lever can be extended using the optional Trigger Extension # 4077.93 for perfect spacing when using a right-hand handle.
The rotating controls are all operated intuitively via premium soft-touch knobs. An oversized, lobed knob puts the zoom/focus knob at your fingertips while your left hand stays on the handle.
Set-Up
The camera mount is front-loading for easy installation and removal. A small mounting plate attaches to the bottom of the camera and secures in the front of the housing. The camera mounting plate does not need to be removed from the camera for surface use or when changing the battery or memory cards. The mounting plate features a 1/4-20 threaded mount on the bottom so that it can be attached to a tripod on the surface.
Viewfinders
The included SuperEye Viewfinder provides an enhanced view of the camera's electronic viewfinder when viewed through a dive mask. The viewfinder removes quickly and easily for the attachment of an optional Straight Magnified Viewfinder # 6890.2 or 45° Magnified Viewfinder (Type 3) # 6891.3.
Camera Compatibility
This housing is only compatible with Nikon Z50 cameras as shipped by the manufacturer. Unless otherwise noted, this housing does not accommodate the use of add-on grips, battery grips, eyepieces, LCD covers, or other accessories.
Differences in lens and control placement prevent other Nikon camera models from being used in or adapted to this housing. We are not aware of any other models which may be used in or adapted to this particular housing.

TTL strobe exposure opens up a whole new world of creative possibilities for both wide angle and macro photographer. Let your camera control the strobe output so that you can devote your attention to adjusting your camera's settings, composing the shot, and focusing on your subject.
Key Advantages
About TTL
TTL or "Thru-the-Lens" flash metering means the camera evaluates the scene and communicates exposure information directly to the compatible flash. The camera automatically adjusts the power output of the external flash so you don't have to.
TTL exposure is faster and typically more accurate than setting the flash output manually. TTL can be the difference between getting a properly exposed image or not, especially when shooting fast-moving subjects and subjects that are moving towards or away from you. TTL is by far the easiest way to shoot perfectly exposed macro photography and allows you to concentrate on focus and framing.
Some people think TTL is only good for macro... but they're wrong! When shooting wide angle or close focus wide angle (CFWA), set your camera to properly expose the background and let the DL2 adjust your strobe intensity for proper exposure of the foreground.
Ikelite was the first company to introduce TTL for underwater strobes with Olympus digital cameras, and continues to set the standard for accuracy of Olympus TTL flash protocol.
Electrical flash triggering
Connecting an electrical sync cord is as quick and easy as screwing in a light bulb. Electrical triggering supports greater accuracy, faster rapid firing, and less missed flashes as compared to fiber optic triggering. Use of electrical TTL also dramatically increases strobe battery life.
The included PT2 TTL Hotshoe is necessary for TTL operation with most Ikelite DL housings. See Housing Compatibility information below.
The ultimate flexibility
Switch between TTL and manual flash exposure modes with the simple push of a button. A super bright LED indicator light shows you which mode you are in with a quick glance. When in TTL mode, flash exposure (EV) compensation can be accessed quickly and easily through the camera's menus. The DL3 DS Link fully supports rear curtain sync flash modes.
The DL3 DS Link is independently waterproof sealed and can be used with a wide array of camera models. Simply use a dual sync cord to fire two strobes in TTL from a single DL3 DS Link converter.

Add true TTL communication to your Ikelite DSLR or mirrorless housing to unlock the fastest rapid-firing and most accurate strobe exposure available. The TTL converter fits securely into the housing underneath the camera mounting tray with plug-and-play cabling for quick, simple installation.
Using TTL ("Thru-the-lens") metering, the camera evaluates the amount of light in the scene and the position of the subject and adjusts the external strobe(s)' power accordingly for a properly lit photo. All you need to do is set the strobe on TTL and pull the trigger.
Advantages to TTL
Several key advantages mean that you'll never miss the shot:
A direct electrical connection to the strobe by sync cord means that the camera is aware that an external strobe is attached and can use this information for more accurate exposure. Strobe exposure compensation can be added or subtracted through the camera's menus.
Our internal TTL circuitry and hot shoe is designed for use with select Ikelite housings for Canon DSLR and mirrorless cameras, see Housing Compatibility below. Not intended for use with non-Ikelite housings.

TTL or "Thru-the-Lens" flash metering means the camera evaluates the scene and communicates exposure information directly to the compatible flash. The camera automatically adjusts the power output of the external flash so you don't have to.
TTL exposure is faster and often more accurate than setting the flash output manually. TTL can be the difference between getting a properly exposed image or not, especially when shooting fast-moving subjects and subjects that are moving towards or away from you. TTL is by far the easiest way to shoot perfectly exposed macro photography and allows you to concentrate on focus and framing. When shooting wide angle or close focus wide angle (CFWA), set your camera to properly expose the background and let the DL1 adjust your strobe intensity for proper exposure of the foreground.
Ikelite was the first company to introduce TTL for underwater strobes with Nikon DSLR cameras, and continues to set the standard for accuracy of Nikon TTL flash protocol.
ISO 100 • f/22 • 1/160 • Nikon D850 with DL1 DS Link TTL Converter and two DS161 strobes
The included NT2 Nikon TTL Hotshoe is necessary for TTL operation with most Ikelite DL DSLR housings.
The DL1 DS Link fully supports rear curtain sync flash modes.
The DL1 DS Link is independently waterproof sealed and can be used with a wide array of camera models. Simply use a dual sync cord to fire two strobes in TTL from a single DL1 DS Link converter.

Converts the electrical bulkhead of any Ikelite DS strobe into a fiber optic port.
Updates
This 3rd Generation of the Fiber Optic Converter features a hard anodized aluminum plug connection which reduces weight without sacrificing durability. It is recommended for use with any Ikelite strobe produced September 2018 or later with a hard anodized aluminum bulkhead.
Like the 2nd Generation model, this Fiber Optic Converter features heightened sensitivity for use with SEA&SEA or Nauticam housings with internal electrical-to-optical flash triggering devices. These devices translate the camera's electrical signals into a series of LED flashes which are much less bright than a traditional built-in camera flash. The Fiber Optic Converter is also compatible with any system where the camera's built-in flash can be seen by a fiber optic cord.
Attachment and Use
The Converter simply attaches to the strobe's electrical bulkhead in place of a sync cord connector. The enlarged slave window provides approximately 90 degrees field of view for remote triggering.
The Fiber Optic Converter automatically configures itself for compatibility with both pre-flash and non pre-flash camera modes. No setting of small switches or confusion over number of pre-flashes. Simply turn on your strobe and take one picture to configure. This adapter is a manual exposure (non-TTL) trigger only. The strobe's output may be adjusted using the manual power settings built into the strobe (varies by model).
An individual Fiber Optic Converter and compatible cord is needed for each strobe. Use of two strobes requires two Fiber Optic Converters.
This converter attaches to an Ikelite DS strobe. It is not intended to be attached to a housing and will provide no functionality if attached to an Ikelite bulkhead in a housing.

Attach your Ikelite DS strobe to almost any light stand for studio photography. A 1-inch diameter ball mount with o-ring is compatible with the Ikelite ball arm system and most ball arm systems from Ultralight, Nauticam, TLC, and other manufacturers. Clamp and light mount sold separately.
The ever-growing selection of lighting accessories on the market demands a mounting system that's highly expandable, flexible, and streamlined. In answer to this need, the second generation of our 1-inch ball arm system provides improved ergonomics and versatility in a lighter, sleeker package. Possible combinations are virtually endless, with opportunities to mount an additional lightweight accessory almost anywhere along the length of an arm.
The 1-inch Ball Arm System Mark II features 1-inch ball components with a groove and o-ring to prevent slippage for improved holding power with less force. While underwater, clamps may be finger-tightened to keep lighting in place yet allow repositioning without loosening the clamp.
All parts are hard coat type III anodized for a long lasting, scratch resistant finish.
Compatibility
Works with 1-inch ball arms from Ikelite, TLC, Ultralight, Nauticam, and others.
Old and new Ikelite 1-inch balls and clamps are interchangeable. For the best performance, we recommend combining like components within a single clamp (two balls with grooves, or two balls without grooves). Ball components with an o-ring groove should have an o-ring installed at all times.
